Welcome to my little corner of the Interweb... Feel free to poke about!
Richard Lloyd is a lot of things, a Father, a Husband, a Brother and Son, as well as being an IT Consultant, a Program and Project Manager. He's politically active, vested in positve outcomes for the most people and willing to put effort to ideas.
He doesn't like bullies and believes that most people will arrive at reasonable solutions and reasonable outcomes, if given reasonable alternatives based on well accepted facts. He doesn't think that a miss-informed majority makes better decisions than a well informed minority... more stupid is just stupid!
He likes his coffee black and wants to talk over it...
He thinks he's right, even sometimes when he's not. He thinks he's funny when he's actually kind of droll, and he thinks he thinks a lot - even when he admits he has been too intuitive at times.
He buys it on sale, and shares that with everyone. His ever-present enthusiasm is either contagious or afflictive.
He'd like you to believe in him, or at least, don't believe against him. He strongly believes in belief and encourages all to have some. Mix that in with a little hard work and you never know what you'll get!
Although a program or project is never engaged with the goal of achieving an award, it is nice to be recognized.
I have had the great opportunity of being involved in both internally acclaimed as well as externally awarded endeavors, with a long history of successful delivery.
It turns out that being a good shot is only a part of the process...knowing what you're aiming for is the first, and arguably the most important step to a bullseye.
From a well defined Business Case, a coherent Charter, SOW's and Risk Mitigation that are complete to a clear Change scheme and Communication blueprint that are concise, having a comprehensive plan improves your outcomes.
If people are your organization's secret weapon, then it's their relationships that fuel your success
Understanding the interconnectivity of your organization's processes and the dependancies that help or hinder its functioning, are a key to maximize efficient and effective change.
Managing growth is one of the trickiest parts of success and if not approached well, it can shortchange your organization's future.
Identifying and resolving process log-jams, highlighting areas that are stress points or which suffer from inefficient legacy operations are some of the best ways to free an enterprise to succeed.
Metrics form the feedback your business needs to function with any certainty and can even be described as your corporate vital signs.
Subjective judgments mean choosing what we like, not necessarily what works best. Defining the measures your organization tracks and how they're reported gives clarity and removes subjectivity from decisions.
I love pictures...
My feeling is that the power of photos is multiplied by the fact that the camera is both brush and canvas. Sometimes my photos are not what I saw - but some device`s attempted interpretation.
May not really be real, but I really, really like the sum of them.
...some are just head scratching fun, here for a smile!

“Be kind whenever possible.
...it is always possible”
-“If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it’s not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.”
“Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”
-“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity. An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
“Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”
-“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it ... he who doesn't ... pays it.”

“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers, we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats, we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models. ”
-“Prime ministers require the hide of a rhinoceros, the morals of St. Francis, the patience of Job, the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the leadership of Napoleon, the magnetism of a Beatle and the subtlety of Machiavelli.”
